BCCI launches online survey under project SHIELD on business preparedness for crisis management
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is conducting a national online survey within the framework of the international project SHIELD ("Social Dialogue for Crisis Management and Resilience in Strategic Industrial Sectors"). The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) calls on companies from the region, especially those in strategic industrial sectors, to share their experiences and challenges in order to help build more effective emergency response mechanisms.
Focus on sustainability and crisis management in the industry
The dynamic economic environment presents businesses with shocks related to supply chain disruptions, energy insecurity, cyber threats, geopolitical conflicts and trade restrictions. The study aims to determine to what extent existing social dialogue mechanisms are prepared for such challenges and how employer organizations, trade unions and businesses can cooperate more effectively in crises and restructuring processes.
Particular attention is paid to strategic sectors for the economy such as:
- Energy;
- Metallurgy, mining and processing of raw materials;
- Enterprises ensuring continuity of employment and sustainability of the regional economy.
Significance of the results for national and European policies
The feedback from the business will serve to identify specific barriers and good practices in Bulgarian enterprises. Based on the collected data, the following will be developed:
- Specialized national report for Bulgaria;
- Recommendations for improving policies;
- National Action Plan;
- Proposals and recommendations for response mechanisms at European level.
The SHIELD project is being implemented in the period 2026–2028 with the participation of partner organizations from Bulgaria, Poland, France, Portugal, Lithuania, Ukraine and Moldova. Filling out the questionnaire takes about 5 minutes, and the information is of key importance for the formulation of real measures to support enterprises. The deadline for completion is October 15, 2026.
