Hybrid Seminar: Cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkey – Opportunities, Perspectives, Success Stories

The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry informs its members and partners about an upcoming hybrid seminar on the topic „"Business cooperation between Bulgaria and Turkey - opportunities, prospects and success stories"“, which will be held on April 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the building of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in Sofia, as well as online via the Zoom platform.

The event is part of a series of initiatives within the framework of the Program „Türkiye-EU Business Dialogue, TEBD II, aimed at promoting cooperation between the business communities of the European Union and Turkey.

The main goal of the seminar is to create a platform for the exchange of knowledge and good practices, as well as to support the building of sustainable partnerships between European and Turkish companies. During the event, participants will receive up-to-date information on:

  • the opportunities for developing bilateral business cooperation;
  • access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises under European programs;
  • successful examples of partnerships between companies from Bulgaria and Turkey.

The seminar is organized jointly with the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (EuroChambers), which will present in detail the opportunities offered by the TEBD II program.

Participants are expected to include representatives of the state administration, diplomatic missions, export-oriented companies, as well as representatives of Turkish business in Bulgaria, including the Bulgarian-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its members. Partner organizations from the academic and business circles in Turkey are also invited.

Participation is free, but requires pre-registration by April 17, 2026.

Bilateral economic relations between Bulgaria and Turkey

Turkey is among Bulgaria's leading trading partners, with the geographical proximity and dynamic development of the Turkish economy creating favorable conditions for intensive trade and investment.

According to data as of January 2026, trade between the two countries amounted to 841.3 million euros, with Bulgarian exports being 203.3 million euros, and imports from Turkey reach 638 million euros. The main traded commodities include metals, raw materials, energy products and vehicles.

Turkish investments in Bulgaria by mid-2025 exceed 1.5 billion euros, targeting sectors such as infrastructure, construction, automotive, food, chemical and textile industries.

About the TEBD II program

The program TEBD II aims to promote dialogue, economic cooperation and sustainable development between the business communities of the EU and Turkey. The initiative implements 18 joint projects between European and Turkish chambers of commerce and industry, including with the participation of the BCCI.

The projects are aimed at increasing the competitiveness of SMEs, as well as supporting their transition to digital transformation and a green economy.
