Business delegation to Baghdad, Iraq

The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) announces that the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Ministry of Economy and Industry are organizing a business delegation to Baghdad, Iraq in the period February 9–12, 2025. The initiative is within the framework of a session of the Joint Committee for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation between Bulgaria and Iraq.

A joint business forum, business meetings of interest, and an event to establish contacts with local companies and business organizations are planned.

Emphasis will be placed on the following sectors:

• energy /processing of carbon raw materials, oil trade, construction and modernization of refineries in Iraq/;
• infrastructure, construction, logistics, transport /participation of Bulgarian companies in the construction of road, railway and energy transmission routes from the "Development Road" project, restoration activities in the Nineveh province region, export of construction materials from Bulgaria, construction of artificial reservoirs, irrigation systems, treatment plants, hospitals and other public buildings and infrastructure;
• agriculture and food industry /import of fodder and grain crops, seeds, fertilizers, agricultural machinery, equipment, plant protection products, cooperation in specialized education in the sector, import of dairy products, eggs, confectionery, live poultry, soft drinks, canned foods, etc./;
• pharmaceutical industry /import of medicines into Iraq/;
• mechanical engineering and metalworking /import of specialized metalworking machines, specialized equipment for the tobacco and food industries, electrical and electronic equipment, electric motors, electric cables, batteries, water and oil pumps, power and distribution transformers, circuit breakers, etc./;
• cosmetic industry /import of Bulgarian essential oils and cosmetic products/;
• military-industrial industry.

BCCI invites companies operating in the above sectors and interested in finding partners in Iraq to join the business delegation. You can express your interest by filling out a registration form. no later than January 24 /Friday/ 2025.

• February 9 /Sunday/ – trip Sofia – Istanbul – Baghdad
• February 10 /Monday/ Bulgarian-Iraqi Business Forum, organized jointly with the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and Industry
• February 11 /Tuesday/ Individual meetings and a networking event
• February 12 /Wednesday/ trip Baghdad – Istanbul – Sofia

Interested companies will receive additional information regarding the expected costs associated with the trip: airfare, accommodation, domestic transportation, medical insurance and organizational fee.
