APEA – Associação Portuguesa de Emprego Apoiado

APEA is a non-profit organization that has been operating since 2003 and represents the supported employment movement in Portugal, as a continuation of the old organization APISE - Portuguese Association for Social Inclusion and Employment - 1992-2003. APEA's mission is to generalize the model for supported employment, increasing access to an open labor market for disadvantaged people. APEA aims, by working together with employers, disadvantaged people or other target groups, social partners and trade unions, to improve community-integrated strategies that will facilitate professional/work integration, which must combine flexibility and safety and stability at work place.
