The Chinese Council for The Promotion of International Trade Welcomed a Bulgarian Delegation in Beijing

On September 11, 2024, on the last day of the two-week visit of the Bulgarian delegation to China, led by The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), a key meeting was held with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). The meeting took place in Beijing and was led by the Vice Chairman of CCPIT and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), Dr. Jianlong Yu, who received the delegation, including a representative of The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). This was an important moment of the program, emphasizing the active participation of both countries in trade and economic relations.

CCPIT, established in 1952, is a leading organization in China to promote foreign trade and economic relations. The Council plays a key role in promoting trade, bilateral investment and economic cooperation with international partners. The organization provides numerous services for businesses, including legal consulting, arbitration services, organizing forums and exhibitions, and actively supports Chinese companies that want to expand their activities overseas.

Highlights from The Meeting

During the meeting Dr. Jianlong Yu and the chairman of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov discussed the possibilities of expanding economic cooperation between Bulgaria and China, emphasizing the development of partnerships in new sectors. Dr. Yu noted that Chinese businesses are looking for new opportunities to expand in areas such as high technology, digital innovation, fintech, green energy and infrastructure. He emphasized that Bulgaria is an important partner within the "One Belt One Road" initiative, which aims to strengthen trade relations between China and the countries of The Balkan Peninsula and Europe.

Mrs. Stela Dionisieva, expert programs and projects in The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the investment profile of Ruse and the opportunities for business development in the region. She emphasized the strategic location of Ruse, which connects Bulgaria and Romania, as well as the potential of the region in sectors such as industrial automation, green technologies and infrastructure. Mrs. Dionisieva also presented the services of RCCI, which support business partnerships and the creation of conditions for investments in the region.

Dr. Yu expressed his willingness to publish the information about Ruse and the investment opportunities on the official website of CCPIT, thus supporting the wider spread of opportunities for business cooperation.

Ongoing Cooperation: Memorandum of Cooperation between RCCI and CCPIT-Ningbo

The meeting with CCPIT is part of RCCI's consistent work to expand relations between Bulgaria and China. In July 2023, during the business visit of Bulgarian delegation in Ningbo, was signed Memorandum of Cooperation between RCCI and CCPIT-Ningbo. The memorandum aims to strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries by maintaining constant contacts, exchange of information and support of business delegations and forums.

In 2023 Milen Dobrev, executive director of RCCI, leaded the Bulgarian delegation to a forum organized especially for them, with leading companies from the region Jiangbei. The forum gave an opportunity to presentation of the Bulgarian economy, investment climate and business potential of the participating companies, as well as to establish specific business contacts.

The signing of the memorandum between RCCI and CCPIT-Ningbo symbolizes the beginning of a deep cooperation between the two organizations. The agreement covers activities such as exchange of information on economic development, technology and intellectual property, as well as organizing the economic and trade delegations between Bulgaria and China.

Conclusion and future initiatives

The meeting with CCPIT in Beijing and the signing of The Memorandum of Cooperation in 2023 are part of the strategic efforts of The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry to encourage international business contacts and expansion of trade relations between Bulgaria and China. RCCI continues to support its members by assisting their participation in international forums and exhibitions, as well as establishing new partnerships.

Thanks to the strategic support of CCPIT, Bulgarian companies will have better opportunities to access the Chinese market and to establish long-term business relationships that will stimulate bilateral trade and economic development.
