RCCI supports the measure "I Choose Bulgaria": New opportunities for returning compatriots and for businesses in the region

The measure "I choose Bulgaria", implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP) through the Program "Human Resources Development" (HRD), focuses on the return of Bulgarians from abroad and their successful professional realization in the country. In parallel, the initiative is also aimed at people who already live in Bulgaria, but wish to start working in a settlement with under 50,000 inhabitants.

An important media partner of the measure is the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA), which, in cooperation with employers and institutions, presents the stories of companies and people who have found their professional fulfillment in our country.

What does the measure provide?

"I Choose Bulgaria" includes two main components:

  • Component 1 is aimed at Bulgarians who have lived abroad for at least 12 months in the last 18 months, or have completed their education there. The aim is to stimulate their return and permanent professional realization in Bulgaria.
  • Component 2 aims to promote internal mobility by supporting people who wish to move and start working in smaller settlements.

Various forms of support are provided:

  • reimbursement of expenses for moving household goods – up to BGN 5,000 within the EU and up to BGN 10,000 outside the EU;
  • rent supplement of up to 406 BGN per month for a period of up to 12 months;
  • Bulgarian language courses for family members who are not Bulgarian citizens;
  • subsidized employment or one-time financial incentives for participants – 30% of the amount of six average salaries after the sixth month and 50% after the first year of employment;
  • transportation incentives for a period of up to 12 months when the workplace is outside the locality in which the candidate resides.

Thus, "I Choose Bulgaria" covers not only the professional, but also the social and life side of return, providing real support for adaptation and long-term settlement in our country.

The support of RCCI and the cooperation with BTA

The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry stands behind the measure as an important tool for developing the regional economy and improving the demographic picture. Within the framework of the initiative, RCCI coordinates the presentation of employers from its business network to BTA, which, as a national news agency, prepares and distributes materials about their activities, staff needs and development opportunities.

Through this collaboration, seven leading companies from Ruse have already been featured in the national media with specific stories, examples of career opportunities, and open positions for qualified personnel.

The shortage of engineers, mechatronics engineers, electrical engineers and other specialists is among the main challenges for the industry in Ruse. "I Choose Bulgaria" opens up the opportunity for professionals who have returned from abroad or are mobile within the country to find employment in companies that offer a modern production environment, training and development.

For employers, this means a chance to attract new experts, for young people - a career prospect in their hometown, and for the region - strengthening the economy and creating sustainable employment.

RCCI supports the "I Choose Bulgaria" measure as part of its mission to assist in the development of local business and the attraction of talent in the region. In partnership with institutions and through the media assistance of BTA, the Chamber will continue to assist in making Ruse and Bulgaria a preferred place for professional realization and personal life.
