A century of pride: 100 years of innovation and education at the Atanas Tsonev Burov Industrial Technology Vocational High School
We are excited and proud to share with our members and partners the festive celebration of 100 years since the establishment of the Professional High School of Industrial Technologies "Atanas Tsonev Burov" - a school with a rich history and a significant contribution to the development of industrial technologies and education in Ruse.
Founded in 1923 by the Rousse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the high school today is a direct successor to the traditions of the first Factory School in Bulgaria. The name of the school is in honor of Atanas Tsonev Burov, a famous economic and political figure, whose personality and work are an inspiration for generations.
Over the years, the school has become an iconic place of education where over 13,000 students have gained knowledge and skills that have laid the foundations for successful careers. Modern programs and dual training, in partnership with more than 25 leading companies, ensure that high school graduates are ready to meet the demands of the dynamic labor market.
The event marking the centenary took place in the historic Dohodno Zdanie in Ruse and gathered many distinguished guests, including representatives of the local government, the academic community, business and the education sector. Among them were the acting mayor of the Municipality of Ruse, the deputy mayor for humanitarian activities, the vice-rector of Ruse University, the head of the Regional Department of Education, as well as representatives of the non-governmental sector and trade unions.
With great honor, the Rousse Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored this momentous moment, presenting a picture depicting the patron of the school. The Executive Director of the Chamber, Mr. Milen Dobrev, expressed his congratulations and thanks to the school for its contribution to the community and education.
Congratulatory addresses were sent by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Prime Minister, reinforcing the importance of the high school for Bulgarian education and industry.
May this centenary be the beginning of many more years of success and inspiration for the school, students and all who believe in the power of education and innovation!
