Possibility of financial support for family businesses and companies from the creative industries and crafts under the PKIP program

Family businesses, businesses from the creative industries and crafts have the opportunity to apply for grants under the "Competitiveness and Innovations in Enterprises" Program until September 16, 2024. The procedure, which has a total budget of BGN 117.5 million, aims to encourage investments to improve production capacity and optimize business processes in these companies, and thus contribute to increasing their competitiveness and strengthening the market their presence. The duration of each project must not exceed 12 (twelve) months.

What is the amount of financial support?

The minimum amount of the grant for the projects is BGN 15,000, and the maximum – BGN 150,000. The co-financing that will be provided under the program is up to 75% for family businesses and those from the creative industries, and for companies from the craft sector – to 85%.

Who can apply?

Candidates who meet the following criteria are eligible to participate in the procedure:

  • To be traders within the meaning of the Trade Act or the Cooperatives Act.
  • Be registered no later than 31.12.2021.
  • To be micro or small enterprises within the meaning of Art. 3 and Art. 4 of the Law on Small and Medium Enterprises and the Recommendation of the Commission of May 6, 2003 regarding the definition of micro, small and medium enterprises.
  • To have an average staff number for 2023 that is ≥ 1 employed person.
  • To be a family enterprise and/or an enterprise with a main economic activity in the field of creative industries and/or an enterprise carrying out an activity included in the List of Crafts according to Appendix 1 to the Law on Crafts and whose owners are entered with the same activity in the National Register of Craftsmen .

What are the eligible activities for funding?

  • Activity 1 – aimed at improving the production capacity of family businesses and enterprises from the creative industries and crafts. It includes the acquisition of assets for the production process/service provision process (long-term tangible assets and long-term intangible assets), as well as tools and equipment below the value threshold of materiality for DMA, ensuring the improvement of the enterprise's production capacity. This activity must be listed in the project proposal;
  • Activity 2 - aimed at improving the market performance of family businesses and businesses from the creative industries and crafts by creating a new online store for the company's products/services;
  • Activity 3 – aimed at improving management, production and logistics processes in family businesses and enterprises from the creative industries and crafts. Within this activity, it is possible to introduce the following ICT systems/modules to improve management, production and logistics processes in the enterprise:
  • Resource management system (ERP system);
  • Customer relationship management system (CRM system);
  • Supply chain management system/module;
  • Warehouse management system/module (WMS system/module);
  • Production management system/module (MOM/MES system/module);
  • System for business analysis (Business Intelligence system).
  • Activity 4 – Consulting services for the preparation of the project proposal under the procedure.

How can you apply?

The application is made entirely electronically by filling out a web-based Application Form and submitting the Form and accompanying documents through the ISUN, section "European Funds under Shared Management (2021-2027)", only with the use of a valid Qualified Electronic Signature (QES). .
