DIRECT (DIgital Responsibility EduCation and Training) is a large-scale educational initiative aimed at promoting the responsible use of digital technologies for the benefit of society, business, and the environment. The project brings together higher education institutions, professional training organizations, and labor market representatives from several European countries, including Bulgaria, to create a comprehensive framework and tools for developing essential digital skills and responsible digital behavior.

Within DIRECT, four main outputs will be developed:

  1. A Digital Responsibility (DR) Competence Framework – unifying common ethical challenges that arise during digitalization and defining specific skills for overcoming them.
  2. Learning designs and materials – practical guidelines and scenarios to help educators and learners enhance their digital responsibility.
  3. A skills analytics engine – enabling personalized learning pathways tailored to each participant’s needs and previous experience.
  4. A web-based platform – providing a simple, accessible way to learn, collaborate, and exchange knowledge on digital responsibility.

The project’s goal is to reduce the risk of potential negative effects of digitalization through education and training, while simultaneously encouraging the responsible implementation of innovations in both the private and public sectors. DIRECT relies on active collaboration with various European organizations and experts to co-create widely applicable, valuable resources. In doing so, it will help increase public awareness of ethics in the digital sphere and strengthen the competitiveness of the European economy by focusing on responsible digital solutions.

More information and updates on the progress of DIRECT, as well as opportunities to participate in training sessions and pilot initiatives, will be posted on the official website of the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry and on the DIRECT project website.
