Rural GCE

ID: 2020-1-UK01-KA204-079145

Duration: December 1, 2020 – December 31, 2022

Global Citizenship Education (GCE) aims to enable learners to change behavior and mindsets to be active citizens locally and globally, creating a more just and inclusive sustainable world. However, GCE in rural areas shows a growing need for a new approach to GCE tools and methodology because of rapidly changing understandings of citizenship and changing cultural diversity.

In this regard, the current project aims to introduce outcomes that motivate people to become active citizens of their communities and develop in a wider context. It aims to build on existing teaching practices and improve related tools, approaches and previous transnational practices, and to:

  • Provide better opportunities and materials to teachers who carry out activities in the field of education in rural areas;
  • To contribute to an easier approach in the process of citizen participation, especially in rural areas in Europe.

The overall goal of the project is to promote social entrepreneurship attitudes in such a way as to motivate people to become ambassadors and innovators of sustainable development and growth in their communities using environmental and cultural challenges.
