RDP intake to support short supply chains and local markets has started
As of November 2, 2020, the 2014-2020 Rural Development Program to support short supply chains and local markets is accepting applications. Sub-measure 16.4 "Support for horizontal and vertical cooperation between actors in the supply chain" is open for application for the second time this year. The total amount of the grant under the procedure is BGN 13,690,600.
It will support the creation, organization, strengthening and promotion of local markets and short supply chains through horizontal and vertical cooperation between their participants. In this way, consumers will have the opportunity to buy products directly from local producers.
A "short supply chain" involves a limited number of economic operators who have made a commitment to cooperate. They must be dedicated to local economic development and close territorial and social relations between producers, processors and consumers.
"Local markets" are defined as markets within a radius of 75 km from the farm of origin of the product. Both the processing of the product and its sale to the end user must take place within this radius.
Eligible applicants are legal entities registered under the Commercial Act or companies established under the Obligations and Contracts Act (OCC) that present a collective cooperation project for the construction and development of a short supply chain or for the construction and development of a local market .
The maximum amount of financial assistance for one project is BGN 977,600, and the minimum amount is BGN 15,000.
The deadline for submitting project proposals under the sub-measure is February 1, 2021.
