Students from the "Baba Tonka" Primary School - Ruse will represent Bulgaria in the international Digital Twin competition

The final round of the national competitions within the Digital Twin project ended on June 18, 2026, when Ruse became the scene for one of the most exciting moments of the Digital Twin project so far. The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev", launched the event, celebrating the energy, commitment and growing expertise of young people preparing for the world of smart manufacturing.

The competition was the culmination of the Digital Twin pilot education program and was an important milestone in the project, allowing participants to move beyond learning to action. Students were challenged to test their knowledge, work together under pressure and show how much they had gained through Digital Twin pilot course in the last 6 months. Similar competitions were held in Spain, Greece, Sweden and Italy.

Out of a total of over 50 students who participated in the program, a team of three enthusiastic students from the Baba Tonka Mathematical High School in Ruse will represent Bulgaria at the International Competition in Italy this fall. Thanks to their strong performance, determination and excellent teamwork, the Balkan Lions team of Valeria Petrova, Venelin Mirchev and Viktor Borisov will compete alongside the other winning teams from the Digital Twin program and will put the skills acquired during their training to the test.

For our team, this is one of the most rewarding parts of the entire experience – to see talented Bulgarian youth with a thirst for new knowledge. and a desire to improve themselves. We can't wait to cheer them on in Italy and cheer for them.

For us, this will be a fantastic finale to the project and a memorable experience for the young talents who have made it this far. We wish the Balkan Lions team every success!
