Important for business: Proposals for changes to the Ordinance on Dual Education
On July 5, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Science published a draft Ordinance amending and supplementing Ordinance No. 1 of 2015 on the terms and conditions for conducting training through work (dual system of training). These changes have significant implications for the business community as they aim to improve the link between education and practice in the real work environment.
Why are these changes important for business?
The changes in the regulation are aimed at better synchronizing the education system with the needs of business. This includes:
- Career guidance for students: Introduction of vocational guidance campaigns among V-VII class students and their parents will help in informed choice of profession and career development while introducing the dual education system.
- Flexible training schedules: The proposed amendments provide for flexible schedules for conducting practical training in a real work environment. This will allow enterprises to adapt the training according to the specific needs of the production process or the seasonal nature of the activities.
- Practical training for students under 16 years of age: The opportunity to conduct practical training in a real work environment for students in class XI who are not yet 16 years old will ensure early adaptation to the work environment and better preparation for their future professional career.
- Compliance with the needs of the labor market: The changes will allow the state enrollment plan in school education to be tailored to the requests of employers, thus responding to the needs of the labor market.
What do the proposed amendments include?
The draft regulation foresees a number of amendments and additions, including:
- Organization of information campaigns for professional guidance together with employers.
- Provision of visits to enterprises for students of class VIII-X to learn about the activities of employers.
- Implementation of production practices together with employers in a real work environment.
