"Career Horizons" Connected Young Talents with Leading Employers in the Ruse Region

On October 15, 2024, the large-scale youth job fair "Career Horizons" was held at the Kaneff Centre of the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev". The event, jointly organized by the University's Career Development Center, the Directorate of Labor Bureau - Ruse and the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), provided a useful platform for direct contact between more than 50 employers and hundreds of young professionals, students and pupils.

A Meeting of Professionals and Future Talents

At the event, employers from various industries, including mechanical engineering, information technology, electronics, agriculture, healthcare and management, had the opportunity to present their open positions, internship programs and specific requirements for candidates. The job fair was distinguished by an exceptional variety of companies covering all eight faculties of the university, which allowed the participants to orient themselves to the suitable career development opportunities.

Among the companies presented were both big established names and smaller innovative businesses that are actively looking for new talent. The participants had the opportunity to have personal conversations with the representatives of the companies, ask questions and get feedback about their application.

RCCI’s New Platform for Employers and Job Seekers

During the event, the executive director of RCCI, Milen Dobrev, presented the new online platform for employers and job seekers, which is now available on the Chamber's website: rcci.bg/jobs/. This innovative service provides a number of advantages for both companies and people looking for a job or internship. Employers can easily post open positions, reaching a wide audience of qualified candidates, while candidates can view job details and apply quickly and conveniently.

The benefits for employers include the opportunity to promote their positions among young professionals and find suitable personnel for their business. The platform is also useful for job seekers as it allows them to find vacancies that match their qualifications and desires and apply directly through it.

Feedback from the Organizations

"This meeting between future professionals and companies not only opens doors to new opportunities, but also shows how important it is for young people to navigate the dynamic labor market. Here they have the opportunity to find their place and find the path to a successful career," said University of Ruse Rector Prof. Dr. Eng. Gencho Popov during the opening of the forum.

In their greetings to the participants, local government and business representatives also emphasized the importance of the event. Tsvetoslav Dimitrov, Director of the Directorate "Education and Culture" in the Municipality of Ruse, delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of the Mayor Pencho Milkov, and Yoana Terzieva, Director of the Directorate "Bureau of Labor" - Ruse, and Milen Dobrev from RCCI expressed wishes for successful meetings and new career opportunities.

Career Orientation and Discussions

In addition to the possibility of face-to-face meetings with employers, Career Horizons participants had access to a number of useful information panels and presentations. The program included an orientation for freshmen, presented by Assoc. Dr. Daniela Yordanova, head of the Center for Career Development, who gave valuable advice to young people about the first steps in their professional careers. Mr. Milen Dobrev from RCCI presented what is important in the selection and training of personnel, and Mrs. Yoana Terzieva from the "Bureau of Labor" introduced the youth to the programs and measures for youth employment.

Conclusion

The Career Horizons youth job fair has once again proven its importance as a key forum connecting young talents with leading employers in the region. The event not only provided students and young professionals with an opportunity for realization, but also a chance for companies to discover new and promising personnel ready to take on professional challenges.

The next edition of Career Horizons is already being planned, promising an even greater variety of opportunities for young talents and companies. The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) will continue to be an active partner in the organization of the event, supporting businesses in finding qualified personnel and creating a platform for direct communication between employers and job seekers.
