Eberspecher opens a new plant for the production of electric heaters in Ruse

Together with the mayor of Ruse, Pencho Milkov, the management of Eberspeher officially marked the beginning of the construction of its new plant for the production of electric heaters in the city. The facility will serve the growing demand for passenger cars in the European market. Production will start in early 2024.

"We are growing together with electromobility," said Ruslan Papazian, General Director of Eberspeher Bulgaria, during the official ceremony and continued: "With the new plant, Eberspeher is purposefully expanding its production operations, as the growing market for battery electric vehicles also increases demand of electric heaters significantly in the coming years. We are happy to make this happen in Ruse." "This is the future of the automotive industry. We are glad that Ruse and its residents will have the opportunity to contribute to its development," said Mayor Pencho Milkov.

Future growth with electromobility
In the coming months, a building with an area of 17,000 square meters will be built in the Slatina Industrial Zone east of Ruse. This includes production and logistics areas, as well as an office and canteen complex on a plot of approximately 53,000 square meters with the possibility of future expansion. The building will focus on a sustainable energy supply with a photovoltaic system on the roof and an efficient modern air conditioning and heating system for the production and office areas.

In the future, the new site will supply the factories of international car manufacturers with electric heaters. The products will be used, for example, in electric cars and hybrid models for the European market. The building is scheduled to be completed by the end of fall, and production is expected to begin in early 2024. The German automotive supplier will create around 180 jobs this year, with plans to expand to 500 employees and an annual production capacity of around 2.4 million heaters after 2025. To support the high demands of the markets, a temporary production facility has already started operations in Ruse in January 2023 until the new building becomes available.
