Ambassador of India Visits the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Discuss Economic and Educational Cooperation
On May 14, 2025, the Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) had the honor of welcoming H.E. Mr. Arun Kumar Sahu – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Bulgaria. During his visit, he met with RCCI Executive Director Mr. Milen Dobrev, and the two sides discussed concrete opportunities for collaboration between India and the Ruse region in areas such as investment, education, and institutional exchange.
Ambassador Sahu expressed a strong commitment to building upon the traditionally good bilateral relations by initiating specific steps to support business and institutional partnerships. The discussions identified potential sectors for economic cooperation, including industrial manufacturing, automotive components, IT services, pharmaceuticals, and agribusiness. The ambassador emphasized India’s strategic interest in Southeast Europe and highlighted the role of Ruse as a key bridge between European and Asian markets.
A major highlight of the meeting was the announcement of upcoming business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Indian and Ruse-based companies, scheduled for early June 2025. This initiative aims to bring together representatives of companies from both countries to foster direct trade and investment partnerships. The event will be organized in cooperation with the Embassy of India in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Ambassador Sahu, who assumed his post in Sofia in January 2025, is a diplomat with extensive international experience. As Head of Mission in Bulgaria, he places strong emphasis on deepening business ties, academic exchange, and cultural cooperation. In the first months of his mandate, he has already carried out visits to several Bulgarian cities, demonstrating consistent support for regional connectivity and investment development.
The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomes this visit as a positive signal for expanding international cooperation. The Chamber remains committed to supporting projects that connect business, education, and institutions in the pursuit of sustainable growth and international outreach.
