Bulgarian-Turkish online business forum with bilateral meetings

On November 25, 2020, at 10:00 AM, the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises (IANMSP) and its Turkish partner, the Foreign Trade Relations Council of Turkey (DEIK), are organizing an online joint business and investment forum with bilateral meetings . It would be of interest to companies from the following sectors of the economy: automotive (including electronics and electrical engineering), mechanical engineering and mechatronics, information and communication technologies and chemical industry.

The forum was realized as a result of an agreement reached between the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Lachezar Borisov, and the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey, Mrs. Rushar Pekcan, in their capacity as co-chairs of the Mixed Bulgarian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission for Economic cooperation. They will open the event. The official part will be attended by representatives of the Bulgarian institutions involved in the promotion of bilateral commercial and economic cooperation. The purpose of the business event and the bilateral meetings is to activate the trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and Turkey, to reveal new opportunities for trade and production cooperation and business partnerships, as well as to encourage investments in both countries.

Turkey is one of the leading trading partners of Bulgaria, and the geographical proximity and the potential of the markets predetermine the high activity between Bulgarian and Turkish companies. For the second quarter of 2020, Turkey ranks 4th in exports with a share of 6.7% (after Germany, Romania and Italy) and 5th in imports with a share of 6.7% (after Germany, Russia, Romania and Italy) . Bilateral trade reached EUR 1,868.5 million, marking a decrease compared to the same period of 2019 by 9.5%. Bulgaria's exports to the Republic of Turkey amount to 907 million euros, and our country's imports are 961.5 million euros.

Those wishing to participate in the Bulgarian-Turkish online business and investment forum with bilateral meetings, which will be held on November 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., should apply by registering at the following link: https://forms .gle/8v3fZ5kJDrUf9TnH7 no later than 20.11.2020.
