The "European Night of Scientists" is a traditional annual event that is gaining popularity even outside the EU countries and aims to raise public awareness of scientific discoveries through a variety of presentations and demonstrations.
The initiative "European Night of Scientists" 2020 - FRESHER is an innovative project funded by the European Commission under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie program of the Horizon 2020 program, which takes place for the fifth consecutive year in over 300 cities in Europe and around the world.
This year, 20 main and 35 associate partners from all over the country participate in the BG initiative with a special program in more than 25 settlements, which will last several months. The program covers exciting activities in schools, competitions, meetings with scientists at research institutes and universities, as well as events in public urban spaces. FRESHER is an abbreviation from the English language and stands for Find Research Everywhere, SHAre and expERience.
The focus of the Night's events is the theme of plant health announced by the United Nations for 2020, which addresses the future of the planet in the context of plant life conservation, ecology, the role of plants in human health as well as the economy, and many other fields.
In 2020, the European Night of Scientists initiatives are being held entirely online due to the pandemic situation in the country. Archive of events in Ruse is available at RTIK's youtube channel.
