Study of the need to acquire digital competences and opportunities for the development of rural tourism among the elderly population
According to the World Tourism Organization, global trade is expected to fall by between 13% and 32 % this year due to the disruption of normal lifestyles and economic activity around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The economy should be restarted immediately after the crisis ends, with tourism expected to play a major role in stimulating consumption and revitalizing the economy.
The Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry is part of a partner consortium that has started work on a European project whose goal is to create a new educational curriculum for acquiring new basic digital skills and competencies for adults who have the potential to develop rural tourism.
At this stage, two studies are being conducted. The first is aimed at the target group - adults (over 40). The information obtained will be used to analyze the need to acquire new basic digital skills and the potential for development in rural tourism among the elderly population.
