A trade committee will be established within the framework of the Mixed Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Iranian Commission for Economic Cooperation

The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry informs about increased interest on the part of partners from Iran for bilateral trade and joint business activities with Bulgarian companies.

According to information from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sofia and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture of Iran, a joint trade committee will be established to bring together companies from both countries with interests in mutually beneficial cooperation. The trade committee will be made up of business representatives, with members from the Iranian side already identified.

The BCCI has undertaken to provide assistance in the formation and determination of the composition of the Bulgarian part of the committee. In this regard, Bulgarian companies with an interest in cooperation with Iran and a desire to join the Joint Trade Committee can apply for participation by January 31, 2019, by calling 02/8117421 and 02/8117489 or by e-mail: irelations@bcci.bg. Participation in the committee is open to all companies.

The Joint Trade Committee will be established during the next meeting of the Mixed Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Iranian Commission for Economic, Industrial, Trade and Technical Cooperation, which will be held in the first half of 2019 in Sofia.

According to information from the Ministry of Economy in 2017. exports from Bulgaria to Iran include: chemical fertilizers, passenger cars, jacks, seeds (rapeseed, sunflower), medicines, electrical appliances, etc.). Iranian imports consist of petroleum oils, polymers, float glass, dates, grapes, synthetic fibers, alloy steel bars and sections, etc.
