Main goal of the project is to promote a more inclusive apprenticeship programme for hearing-impaired people in EU (vet students, 14-18 age) through designing and releasing of a quality standard for distance apprenticeship (made by tools, e-solutions and activities). This will create more inclusive VET and business environments that foster equity and equality, improving the job placement of young deaf people and dispelling the myth of their low employability and low professional contribution. The main activities planned to be implemented are:
- Developing a TOOLBOX with 6 tools to make more inclusive the Apprenticeship;
- Release an e-PLATFORM to support the target groups in approaching digital Apprenticeship with deaf people;
- Creating a COMMUNITY OF PRACTICES based on virtual and local HUBS, Local Workshops and Campaigns and an EU Policy;
- Testing the results with a wider audience and launch the project heritage.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- Create MORE INCLUSIVE VET AND BUSINESS ENVIRONMENTS THAT FOSTER EQUITY AND EQUALITY FOR DEAF PEOPLE IN APPROACHING THE LABOR MARKET;
- Providing BOTTOM-UP-DESIGNED TOOLS addressed at VET entities, companies, and students to set up a new standard for digital and inclusive apprenticeship programme;
- IMPROVE THE JOB PLACEMENT OF YOUNG DEAF PEOPLE, by addressing the working barriers faced in accessing the labor market;
- DISPEL THE MYTH OF LOW EMPLOYABILITY AND LOW PROFESSIONAL CONTRIBUTION OF HEARING IMPAIRED WORKERS.
Target audience:
- LOCAL: VET trainers, training experts, headmasters; companies and their representatives; disability associations, etc.;
- REGIONAL: VET trainers, training experts, headmasters; companies and their representatives; disability associations, etc.;
- NATIONAL: disability associations, Ministries, training department, business sector, general audience;
- EU LEVEL: LIFELONG LEARNING PLATFORM, DIGITALEUROPE, EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF ERASMUS COORDINATORS, ORGANISING BUREAU OF EUROPEAN STUDENT SCHOOL UNIONS, EC DGs: CONNECT, EMPLOYEMENT, EAC (UNIT A2 EIT and FUTURE OF EDUCATION), general audience.
Main results of the QSA4Disability project:
- QSA4Disability TOOLBOX addressed to all the 3 crucial actors in the apprenticeship paths, as well as project Target Groups. It will consists of several tools, designed to make more open and inclusive the Apprenticeship;
- QSA4Disability e-Space, a Moodle-based platform, designed and developed to support VET organizations (the sending partners), VET students with hearing-impaired disability (the apprentices) and companies (the hosting partners) in approaching digital Apprenticeship with deaf people.
- QSA4DISABILITY Community, which will not only give practical application to the work packages outcomes, but also will start concrete steps for building a bridge among VET centres, labor market and relevant stakeholders in PPs’ countries focused on a more inclusive apprenticeship through its deliverables.
Partners in the project are organizations from Hungary, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy, Greece, Slovenia.
