MRRD invites all interested parties to consultations in support of improving the process of regional development in Bulgaria

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works will hold strategic meetings and consultations for regional development with representatives of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the period July 15-26. Representatives of the non-governmental sector, academia, local business, and citizens are invited.

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRRD) is in the process of implementing an Agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) to provide consulting assistance in support of improving the regional development process in Bulgaria and assistance in the programming process for the period 2021-2027

The scope of the project with MBVR is focused on assisting the Ministry of Regional Development in the structuring and functioning of the main units responsible for the implementation of the regional policy for the next program period, as well as to support their administrative capacity.

Within the framework of the implementation of the activities under the Agreement, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications are jointly organizing a series of strategic consultations at the regional and local level in the period July 15-26, 2019. It is planned that the consultations will be conducted through meetings with various groups of interested parties, at which it will be discussed the vision for regional development during the new program period and the mechanism for implementing integrated territorial projects.

The partnership between all interested parties is of crucial importance for the implementation of a successful regional development policy, that is why the Ministry of Regional Development invites representatives of the non-governmental sector, academia, local business, and citizens to participate in this process.
